Born in the soft light of early morning, Rare Gem Mirakel’s Halo made an entrance we won’t soon forget. This beautiful Leopard Appaloosa female is the first cria for her dam, Rare Gem Apache’s Raya Sunshine and the very first offspring for her sire, Mirakel. Tiny but mighty, bright-eyed and steady from the start, Halo stepped into the world with presence and poise. Her arrival was not without challenge. Halo presented with one leg back and her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck—complications that required quick correction and careful attention. She is the second cria for her dam, H2R Myrtle, and the second daughter for her leopard Appaloosa sire, Mirakel — and what a beautiful reflection of both parents she is. Rare Gem Fantasy Unlaced—known around the farm as Finley—is the very first offspring of Snowmass Fantasy In Lace, one of the cornerstone females selected for the Rare Gem foundation herd through the 2025 Parade of Champions auction. From the moment she stood, Finley demanded attention. Wrapped in an extraordinary blanket of dense, highly organized fleece with exceptional brightness and architecture, she displayed the kind of early fleece characteristics every breeder hopes to see. While time will ultimately reveal her full potential, her first impression left us incredibly optimistic about her future. Finley represents the thoughtful blending of two legendary breeding programs. Her dam carries the renowned Snowmass genetics that have long been admired for elite fleece quality, while her sire, Accoyo America Conjurer, contributes the carefully developed Accoyo America lineage. Together, they produced a female that embodies the qualities we hoped this pairing would achieve. Her registered name, Fantasy Unlaced, is a playful nod to her dam, Snowmass Fantasy In Lace. Sometimes an Appaloosa doesn’t reveal all her secrets at first glance. Rare Gem hAppy Down Under arrived looking considerably more conservative than we might have expected from a pairing between proven Appaloosa producer FDA Warrior’s Georgia and our Harlequin Appaloosa male Rare Gem Camouflage. But when cria shearing day arrived, Appy had a surprise waiting for us — **spots hiding across her belly underneath all that fleece.** And just like that, hAppy Down Under had her name. hAppy brings together two very interesting sides of our Appaloosa breeding program. Her dam, Georgia, has already proven her ability to produce dramatic pattern. Bred to Chimbote, Georgia produced Rare Gem Thankful Eve, a striking nose-to-toes leopard Appaloosa female selected for the 2025 Education with a Destination auction. hAppy’s sire, Rare Gem Camouflage, is a handsome Harlequin Appaloosa son of Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia and Running Late’s Peaches and Cream. Camouflage comes from an intriguing patterned line as well — Peaches previously produced classic Appaloosa Rare Gem Night Owl, who was exported to Switzerland. Now Georgia and Camouflage have given us hAppy: a beautifully put-together young female whose pattern is much more subtle, but definitely knows how to make an entrance once you know where to look! What truly caught our attention was something we have never seen in over a decade of breeding—full neck and body wrinkling at birth, a remarkable indicator of future density. With a 332-day gestation and a flawless unassisted delivery, Manly Man made an unforgettable entrance. Manly Man is the third cria in Mirakel’s debut lineup and the second Reverse Appaloosa born in the same week-- something quite of of the ordinary. Confident and inquisitive, Manly Man carries a beautifully balanced frame, straight legs, and the same short muzzle, straight ears, and typey head style that all three Mirakel crias share. His newborn fleece already displays bright, well-defined bundled architecture and impressive density. This young male is an up and comer in the Rare Gem breeding program. We purchased his dam from the Alpaca Palace auction in Pennsylvania in 2019 when Cras-Z was "cooking in the oven". When born, Cras-Z had the bundles of curls and the "look" we get excited about. He has grown into a handsome body double of his daddy, Sunset Hills Zagato. Zagato was the 2019 Futurity Herdsire of the Year (dark) and has a proven track record of throwing the coloration of the dam while stamping the offspring with his superior fleece qualities. Cras-Z’s is a compact male with an advanced architecture fleece... brightly bundled and uniform with a high-amplitude crimp structure. Cras-Z's 2022 fleece was submitted to the Fall PNAA Innovative Fleece Assessment / Show. He placed 2nd out of 9 in a very competitive Grade 1, Medium Fawn category. Report is included under pictures... of special note, "Uniformity" across blanket = 15 out of 15! This uniformity extends out into Cras-Z's extremities. One of our favorite traits of Cras-Z is that he has an extremely clean apron and lower carriage and no halo. Cras-z has been color genotyped and is an ee a2a3 which is a genotype with dilute as well as two black alleles. This genotype carries a lot of variety in what it can produce. We are happy to discuss your goals and whether Cras-Z can stamp your female with his elite-fleece while producing the color you desire.

Handsome son of lavender grey herdsire, 3X Champion Rare Gem Privateer's First Mate, and true black dam, Granite Bay National Velvet. National Velvet is a daughter of 3X Futurity Herdsire of the Year-- US Steel. This boy's pedigree is packed with elite grey and black genetics. Sea Señor has been color genotyped as EE a1a2. He carries no dilution and two black alleles— including a1 which produces beautiful blue black. Sea Senor will be an asset to a black and grey breeding program. Another exciting pairing for this male will be appaloosa's carrying a dilution gene. By pairing with such a female, offspring have the potential to be classic appaloosa and even harlequin appaloosa. Rare Gem Camouflage has grown into exactly the kind of male we hoped for when he was born: a striking Harlequin Appaloosa with strong fleece credentials, tremendous presence, and an increasingly exciting production record. Camouflage is the son of Vintage Cashmere U-Taupe-ia and Running Late’s Peaches and Cream, a female selected for her outstanding fleece traits, phenotype, pedigree, and expressed pattern. Peaches had already demonstrated her ability to produce Appaloosa pattern when bred to Apache Gentleman, producing Rare Gem Night Owl, a classic Appaloosa female later exported to Switzerland. When Peaches was paired with Harlequin Appaloosa Taupie, the result was Camouflage. Born November 15, 2021, Camouflage made an impression from the beginning with his eye-catching pattern, substantial fleece, and strong presence. As he has matured, he has become an easy and enthusiastic breeding male — and, more importantly, his offspring are now showing us what he can contribute. His first crias began arriving in late 2024, and we have been extremely pleased with the results. Camouflage is producing attractive, well-built offspring with exciting color and pattern expression. Among them is Rare Gem hAppy Down Under, his 2026 daughter out of proven leopard-producing female FDA Warrior’s Georgia, hAppy appeared relatively conservative at first glance, but cria shearing revealed Appaloosa spotting hidden across her belly — another fascinating example of how pattern can express itself in the next generation. Mirakel is now a proven herdsire, and his first four crias have exceeded every expectation. All are expressed Appaloosa—two Reverse Appaloosas, one Leopard Appaloosa, and one white with pale spotting—each displaying strong frames, typey head styles, straight legs, and exceptional newborn fleece. His debut results firmly place him as a highly promising male in our rare-color and Appaloosa breeding program. Mirakel carries elite fleece qualities, correct structure, balance, and a pleasing head style. His show career includes multiple top placements, highlighted by his outstanding win as: 2023 PNAA “Most Uniform in Grade – Grade 0” An impressive achievement for an Appaloosa competing against solid-colored animals at the finest grade level. We have followed MIrakel's dam for years as she is the closest appaloosa descendant to LF Del a Burl, the handsome appaloosa male that was exported to Germany. With his departure, these genetics were limited to just two females in the United States-- one of which is MaRs Dixie-- MIrakel's dam. Dixie is the only appaloosa descendant of daughter from LF del A Burl. In Germany, Burl went on to produce 50+ cria, the majority of which are appaloosa and/or patterned. Mirakel's grand-dam, Sugar Shoo, was a full Peruvian and a granddaughter of Auzengate, a Peruvian male, noted for throwing appaloosa cria. Rare Gem Zensational is a young Harlequin male whose name truly fits. He represents the next chapter of our Appaloosa/Harlequin program—combining elite fleece traits with the unique, color-producing genetics we breed for. Zensational’s dam, Stone Pine Josie, is an exquisite Champion female who showed as a Roan—which sometimes happens with Harlequins. In one memorable lineup, she went neck-and-neck for Judge’s Choice. The judge ultimately selected the younger animal but offered glowing remarks about Josie’s conformation, density, and overall uniformity, saying what a tough decision it had been between the two. Crescent Moon’s Beatriz represents the kind of female that quietly strengthens a program from the inside out. I was delighted to purchase her at the 2026 Futurity Auction and add her to Rare Gem as a future foundation female. She is an elegant young white female with a pleasing presence, a sweet temperament, and the genetic depth to make her especially meaningful as a long-term addition. Her pedigree blends the strength of Crescent Moon’s Buster and Amber Autumn KatyLynn, combining sought-after Crescent Moon, Snowmass, and Accoyo lines. What makes Beatriz particularly exciting to me is the fleece potential behind her. Her parents’ 2025 EPDs show remarkable strength, ranking in the top 1% in five of eight categories between them, including elite standing for fineness traits. With both parents carrying outstanding AFD values, I am hopeful that Beatriz will contribute the kind of fine, organized, uniform fleece that helps build lasting quality into a breeding program. Beatriz has already begun building her own record in the ring, earning 1st and 2nd place at the 2026 TxOLAN shows and placing 4th in a large, highly competitive white class at the 2026 Futurity. Those early results—particularly in such a deep Futurity class—only add to the promise she carries. She will remain at Rare Gem as a foundation female and, when mature, will be thoughtfully integrated into my Appaloosa breeding program. Tic Tac is the product of two top producing harlequins from the Kuska herd. She carries legendary appaloosa / harlequin genetics on both sides of her pedigree making it very possible that she is homozygous for the appy / harlequin trait. She has had three offspring-- all out of non-appaloosa / harlequin gene carriers. All three of Tic Tac's offspring have expressed-- one as classic appaloosa and two as lovely harlequin appaloosas. After just a 330 day gestation, he was up, nursing and posing within minutes. This boy has presence galore! He thinks he is "all that" and I am just smitten with him. Will be repeating this breeding. 2022: Tic Tac's third cria has arrived... and she has done it again! Another beautiful harlequin appaloosa-- this time a female. Tic Tac gave birth to a big-bone, color-FULL 16 lbs. female on day 337 (11/19/22). As this is Tic Tac's third appaloosa in a row, we have named her Tic Tac's Hat Trick. 2024: We loved the result of Tic Tac's last two offspring sired by champion FTAF's Privateer, but he was purchased by Mary Miller of Aspen Alpacas. So... for Tic Tac's 2023 breeding, we paired her with our handsome male, Sriracha of Linden Hills. Sriracha is a beautifully conformed male with a very fine, elite fleece. Previously, Tic Tac was paired with Sriracha's sire, Springtoo Skyfall and produced a lovely appaloosa female. 2024 Update: It with a sad heart that we lost service sire, Sriracha of Linden Hills to a bowel torsion. Sriracha was such a sweet and beautiful, elite-fleeced alpaca. This breeding to Tic Tac will be our only offspring produced by Sriracha here on this farm... and on September 4, 2024... he and Tic Tac delivered! Confirmed pregnant to Rare Gem Divine X for a September 2026 cria Shasta Daisy is one of those truly special females who quietly wins your heart. A gentle soul with a big, soft presence, she is adored by everyone who spends time with her. Daisy comes from exceptional lineage on both sides. Her sire, Accoyo America Jason, is a 6X color champion co-owned by Amber Autumn Alpacas and Little Creek Farm, LLC. Jason is the result of a highly successful pairing of Camilio full siblings, and he made history by winning the AOBA Nationals brown male championship three years in a row. Summer Shandy gave birth on April 4, 2025, to a colorFULL handsome harlequin appaloosa male, Rare Gem Chunky Monkey, sired by our renowned harlequin herdsire, Rare Gem Camouflage. His name is inspired by his substantial bone structure and the colorful ice cream, Chunky Monkey. This young male is a Camo mini me and he was up, walking, and nursing within minutes. Shandy delivered on time at 341 days. The delivery was textbook perfect and unassisted, showcasing her ease of birthing. Shandy is a nurturing mother with great maternal instincts. Summer Shandy is a multi blue ribbon winner and the daughter of Snowmass Silent Legend—co-owned by Alpaca Palace and Stachowski Alpacas. Silent Legend is a 9X champion and son of the legendary Snowmass Elite Legend, Herdsire of the Year for three consecutive years. Elite Legend is recognized as one of the most elite-fleeced Quechua sons to grace breeding programs in the United States. Silent Legend brings color into the Elite Legend genetic line through his dam, Snowmass Silent Whisper, whose lineage includes Snowmass Nova and 6Peruvian Silent Night, as well as Accoyo Legacy and Chaccu. Miss Toffelees is the first offspring sired by Snow Diamond Private Reserve, one of Defiance's exceptional sons. MissToffelees' dam is TAG Miss Monday, a lovely female from champion parents and whose great great sire is Majestic Peruvian Jeremiah. Miss Monday contributes a dense and high-amplitude fleece to her offspring. Miss Toffelees is fine, but what we love about her is her consistency, not only within the staple, but also throughout her entire blanket and even a bit beyond. That consistency, together with her fineness is going to keep her fleece ultra-soft for a long time. So, no doubt, this is how she thought is was supposed to be done! Born 342 days gestation, Cranberry Sass "Sassy" looks very similar to her dam at birth. Both dam and sire are appaloosa making Sassy very possibly homozygous for the appaloosa gene(s). Sassy's dam gets her appaloosa genetics from My Peruvian Zephyrus as well as a double dose of SA Peruvian Black Epic. Sire, Rare Gem X Man, is an appaloosa descendent of NGG Lional. From the moment he stood, she has been a calm, attentive, and confident mother, requiring no intervention. Girly Girl completed the 2024 show season with six championship banners and 12 blue ribbons. Judges consistently praised her elite brown fleece, fineness, uniformity, and character. We are happy to keep her, but making some tough decision regarding sales. If not purchased by the end of breeding season, we will be keeping her for at least another year. Euphoria is an excellent representation of her elite sire, Snowmass Divine Majesty. Snowmass Divine Majesty is the son of Snowmass Enchanted. This sire line is known for its showy, heavy boned phenotypes and frequent dark color with excellent maintenance of fineness and uniformity of micron through adulthood. In fact, Divine Majesty’s fifth fleece posted grid histogram results including an AFD of 16.8, SD of 3.3 and just 0.2%>30 which is phenomenal!. He is a multiple champion and Judges Choice-winning fawn who has demonstrated the ability to produce champion offspring in turn. His color genotype (Ee AA) which means he can produce crias in solid colors from white to brown, and we have found his sire’s line to be a good source of modern greys as well. When looking at Euphoria, you immediately notice her solid frame and presence. She is packing on the fleece-- her skirted cria fleece weighed in at her first show at 3.5 lbs. Development & Future Healing Heart had a slow start as a juvenile and wasn’t shown due to her smaller size, but she has matured into a compact, well-proportioned young female. With her stellar genetics, she holds tremendous potential as a foundation female for appaloosa and harlequin breeding programs... we enjoy her sweet disposition on the farm.

Crescent Moon’s Imelda is an exciting young foundation female that we were thrilled to add to the Rare Gem Alpacas program through the 2026 Education with a Destination auction. From the moment we saw her, Imelda stood out for her phenotype, presence, and especially her striking head style. She is a beautifully balanced, feminine female with the kind of look that immediately draws your attention, while also offering the pedigree and fleece qualities we are continually seeking to strengthen within our foundation herd. Imelda is sired by Crescent Moon’s Tarcisius and out of the exceptional Crescent Moon’s Divine Inspiration. Tarcisius is an impressive male with tremendous presence, coverage, bone, and substance, while Divine Inspiration is an accomplished female with an outstanding show record of her own. Together, they represent two equally exciting sides of a pedigree filled with proven Crescent Moon and Snowmass genetics. Imelda's fleece data further supports what we admired in person. Imelda’s first fleece tested at an impressive 17.2 microns with a 98.8% comfort factor. As she matured, she maintained excellent fineness at 18.9 microns, while improving in uniformity with a lower SD and CV. We are excited about the combination of fineness, consistency, phenotype, and pedigree she brings to our program. Imelda is currently bred to Crescent Moon’s Humphrey and is due in May 2027. This pairing makes her addition especially exciting to us, as we look forward to welcoming not only Imelda as a new foundation female, but also the highly anticipated Humphrey offspring she is carrying. Following this breeding, we anticipate incorporating Imelda into our Appaloosa breeding program, where her phenotype, pedigree, fleece quality, and other characteristics make her an exciting candidate for the next phase of our breeding goals.
