Born in the soft light of early morning, Rare Gem Mirakel’s Halo made an entrance we won’t soon forget. This beautiful Leopard Appaloosa female is the first cria for her dam, Rare Gem Apache’s Raya Sunshine and the very first offspring for her sire, Mirakel. Tiny but mighty, bright-eyed and steady from the start, Halo stepped into the world with presence and poise. Her arrival was not without challenge. Halo presented with one leg back and her umbilical cord wrapped around her neck—complications that required quick correction and careful attention. Once safely delivered, a single sunbeam broke across her tiny, still-damp frame. That moment—where effort, relief, and light all converged—is what inspired her name: Mirakel’s Halo. Heritage & Strengths From Her Dam — Raya Sunshine Raya is a modestly expressed Appaloosa, carrying the genetics without bold patterning. She has a strong, balanced frame and a calm, steady temperament. Her sire, Apache, is well known for expressive offspring, and Halo clearly taps into that side of her pedigree. Raya’s line is recognized for good structure, consistency of color, and a natural pasture presence that stands out. She is the second cria for her dam, H2R Myrtle, and the second daughter for her leopard Appaloosa sire, Mirakel — and what a beautiful reflection of both parents she is. Daphne is a rare reverse Appaloosa, expressing a warm fawn base scattered with soft white spots. She is also a meaningful milestone for us here at Rare Gem: our first-ever reverse Appaloosa cria. From her earliest moments, she showed straight legs, excellent balance, and that confident sweetness we love to see in newborns. Heritage & Strengths From Her Dam — H2R Myrtle Myrtle comes from a lineage rich in plant- and flower-themed names, including Calla Lily and Hazelnut. Born a petite 11 pounds, Rare Gem Liv with Hope entered the world small in size but immense in spirit. From the moment she stood, she has not stopped moving — chasing older crias, bounding across the pasture, and announcing her presence with confidence far beyond her age. She may be tiny, but she is mighty! Liv is the first offspring of Harlequin Appaloosa herdsire Rare Gem Apache’s Be Brave, marking the beginning of his production story. While she “missed the memo on the spots,” her phenotype is already exquisite — strong frame, balanced structure, bright expression, sweet disposition, and remarkable vitality. Out of proven champion-producing dam Snowmass Promise of Hope, Liv carries forward a maternal line known for quality, presence, and consistency. Her maternal siblings include banner winners and export-quality females, and early signs suggest Liv will proudly follow in their footsteps. At just one week of age, she is gaining between half a pound and a full pound per day — thriving under Hope’s exceptional maternal care. Her name is layered with meaning. To live. To rise.
