In October 2017, Chanelle and her mom, Sephora, joined the Rare Gem Alpaca foundation herd (co-owned with Diamond Valley Alpacas). These girls are exactly what we look for in our foundation-- elite-fleece-- lasting fineness, density, temperament, proven champion pedigree producers.
Chanelle's dam, Sephora, is a gorgeous STUD female and lives true to her name, "Stunning" Sephora. She has great bone substance, full coverage, and a long stapled fleece with brightness and uniformity. Sephora even at age 8, as a breeding female has stats we love-- AFD 19.0 SD 3.9 CV 20.4% >30 1.4% (2018) and EPDs in the top 1% in 6 Categories (2018)! No surprise given her great genetics: El Nino, Caligula, Hemingway and Legacy.
Chanelle, sired by Starshire's Vicente, arrived as a beautiful 21 pound fawn over black with the look of a stud female at 11 months of age.
Chanelle's sire, Starshire’s Vicente is a handsome, true black macho male. He has excellent fiber and conformational characteristics. He is good size, well balanced frame, and a typey head style. His fiber stats at 3 yrs. old are AFD 18.7 SD 3.6 CV 19.1 >30 0.7. His fleece has a beautiful, soft handle and is organizing within the staple with character and crimp as well as packing in the density.
Vicente’s dam, Caryzma, is a champion female. She has good size frame, a calm temperament and is maintaining a 20 micron fleece at age 5. She has produced only black offspring to this point. Her sire is 20 time banner winner HRF Peruvian Challenger who boasts a follicle density of 88.75 per square millimeter. Vicente’s sire, Patagonia’s Chief is a multi - color champion with a 16 micron fleece.

4/17/20 - Chanelle birthed a handsome med. fawn male out of XXXtreme Spots. No spots, but exquisite fleece and phenotype.
7/11/21 - Chanelle birthed a handsome dark fawn male out of X-Man (appaloosa son of XXXtreme Spots). This is the first offspring of Rare Gem X-Man-- beautiful fleeced male... just missing the spots. .
